Tiquinho Soares is expected to start for Botafogo against Atlético-MG on Wednesday at 9:30 p.m. at Estádio Nilton Santos. The match is part of the 34th round of the Brazilian Championship and is seen as important for Botafogo’s effort to move clear of the relegation zone.

Tiquinho returned to the club late in the mid-year transfer window and started against Chapecoense, scoring the only goal in a 1-0 win. He remained in the lineup against Internacional but was replaced by Arthur Cabral for Botafogo’s 2-1 defeat to Remo.

Since returning, Tiquinho has made seven appearances, five as a substitute, and scored once. Cabral, his main competitor for the role, has gone 17 matches without a goal. His last goals came against Corinthians on May 17, when he scored a hat-trick.

Botafogo have reduced ticket prices for the Atlético-MG game, with tickets starting at R$10. Club members can check in for free and bring guests without charge. The club expects strong attendance for a match in which a win could give Botafogo a more comfortable cushion above the relegation zone.

Speaking to reporters on Saturday, Tiquinho urged supporters to back the team on Wednesday. He said the fans’ support mattered and pledged that the players would give everything to help Botafogo out of its current situation.
