APA Petrolina is preparing to defend its title at the Brazilian Para Athletics Championships and pursue a fifth consecutive overall victory. The Pernambuco delegation includes 62 people: 39 athletes, six guides and 17 members of the coaching staff. It is due to travel to São Paulo on November 11 for the competition at the Ícaro de Castro Mello Stadium in Ibirapuera, where events will run from November 12 to 14.

Team coordinator and coach Hugo Brito said the final phase of preparation is focused on technical and physical adjustments. He acknowledged the challenge of defending four consecutive titles and said the team was working toward another championship.

APA Petrolina recorded strong results at Paralympic Meetings and the International Open during the season. In September, the club also won the Brazilian Youth Championships’ overall title for a second time. Brito said the season’s performances had reinforced confidence in the athletes, while noting that the team would face strong opposition and need to stay focused throughout the competition.
