Umberto Louzer has recorded five wins and two defeats since taking charge of Criciúma, giving him a 71.43% winning record. The coach arrived on September 26, replacing Eduardo Baptista, and now faces two direct rivals in the closing rounds of the Série B campaign.
Criciúma’s next match is away to Vila Nova on Saturday, November 7, at 8 p.m. Brasília time, at the OBA. The team will then host Novorizontino on November 14 at 4:30 p.m. at Heriberto Hülse. Criciúma won both reverse fixtures, beating Vila Nova 2-0 and Novorizontino 1-0.
Of Louzer’s seven matches in charge, only one was against a team competing for direct promotion: Criciúma lost 2-1 to Sport away from home. The team also fell 1-0 to Ceará, while its wins came against Avaí, Londrina, América-MG, São Bernardo and Ponte Preta.
Criciúma sit fourth with 62 points. Vila Nova are third on 63, while leaders Novorizontino have 67. The final two matches will determine the club’s push for a place in the 2027 Série A.
