Tifanny Abreu has publicly addressed her future in volleyball, saying in a social media post that she intends to keep resisting and remain in the profession amid an impasse over her eligibility for competitions organized by the Brazilian Volleyball Confederation (CBV). She described her commitment to the sport as something she chose to practice with truth, respect and care, and said she would carry the courage to resist and the dignity to exist into November.

She also stressed that she is not giving up, saying she remains present, resisting and believing, and that obstacles would not outweigh her desire to continue. She added that others might try to change her path but could not erase her existence, essence or right to keep going.

The post comes amid a legal back-and-forth. On Oct. 16, she obtained an injunction in common court authorizing her to play in the Supercopa and Superliga. She then played in the final against Praia Clube, scored 15 points and helped Osasco win 3-0 to take the title; she was named best player and received the VivaVôlei Trophy.

The authorization was short-lived. On Oct. 23, the Rio de Janeiro Court of Justice suspended the first-instance injunction, and on the same day the sports court unanimously denied the mandado de garantia filed by the athlete. With both decisions, she was left without eligibility to play in CBV-organized competitions. Her defense said it intended to appeal to the common court.
