Atlético-PI coach Renata Costa has called for humility ahead of the 2026 Campeonato Piauiense Feminino final, despite her team’s 11-0 victory over Liga São João in the semifinal. Atlético-PI will face Piripiri in the title match.
Costa said the team would focus on its work and approach the final with respect, describing Piripiri as a strong opponent. She also pushed back against claims that winning the championship was an obligation for Atlético-PI, pointing to last year’s campaign as a reminder that a highly rated squad does not guarantee a title.
In the 2025 final, Atlético-PI finished as runner-up after losing to Liga São João on penalties, despite being considered favorites by many. Costa said her team had been well-qualified then, but did not win the competition.
Atlético-PI secured this year’s final place at Teresina’s Lindolfo Monteiro Stadium. Eduarda Balbino, Aninha and Adriane Nenê scored twice each, while Thalita, Letícia, Lívia, Lilian and Ludy also found the net.
The final between Piripiri and Atlético-PI is scheduled for Tuesday, November 3, at 5 p.m. at Lindolfo Monteiro Stadium in Teresina. The match will be shown by Rede Clube on channel 4.2 and ge Piauí, and broadcast on Clube News 90.9 radio.
