Rafael Nadal will return to the court for an exhibition match in Las Vegas on February 28, 2027. The event, called The MGM Slam Presented by Capital One, is scheduled to take place at the T-Mobile Arena, but Nadal’s opponent has yet to be confirmed.

The appearance will be the former world-class player’s first since he retired from professional tennis in November 2024. Nadal, a 22-time Grand Slam champion, said he was excited about the chance to play again in front of a large crowd.

The announcement has also raised the possibility of a reunion with Roger Federer. Nadal said the pair stay in regular contact and have discussed playing an exhibition match, although no plans have been finalised.

“We talk every week and have already discussed the possibility,” Nadal said. He added that they would see whether they could find the right motivation or a suitable venue.

Nadal’s final professional match came while representing Spain at the Davis Cup in November 2024. He lost to the Netherlands’ Botic van de Zandschulp in straight sets in the quarter-finals in Málaga.
