Plácido de Castro is preparing for its return to the top tier of the Campeonato Acreano in 2027 after finishing second in this season’s Série B. The club is seeking support to assemble a competitive squad and hopes to begin pre-season training in early December.

President Renato Garcia told ge that the club aims to decide on player and coaching staff signings during the first half of November. Discussions are ongoing with coaches from different regions of Brazil as well as local candidates, while the player search includes local talent and footballers from other states. Garcia said the club changed its plans after coach Pedro Balú withdrew.

Garcia said Plácido de Castro relies heavily on public partnerships because the municipality’s private sector is limited. The club is seeking support, particularly from local government, to make its squad plans viable.

The team also hopes to play its home matches at Estádio Ferreirão in Plácido de Castro, but that depends on the venue being brought into compliance. The club was relegated from the Acreano in 2025 and spent two seasons in the second division before earning promotion back to the elite.
