Memphis Depay trained normally with the Corinthians squad on Monday and is expected to be included for Wednesday’s derby against São Paulo. The match is scheduled for 9:30 p.m. Brasília time at Vila Belmiro, in the 34th round of the Brazilian Championship.
The Dutch forward has recovered from a muscular edema in the femoral biceps of his right thigh. After completing his physical transition, he took part in the entire session at the Joaquim Grava training center and became available to coach Clarence Seedorf for the first time.
Memphis last played in Corinthians’ 4-1 defeat to Palmeiras on October 11. He missed the team’s three matches since Seedorf took charge.
Part of Monday’s training was open to the press for approximately 40 minutes. The squad worked on one-on-one exercises before moving to a small-sided possession and passing activity, with Rodrigo Garro and under-20 defender Levy Dias serving as neutral players.
Forward Kayke trained separately with the ball under the supervision of the physiotherapy staff. He is in the sixth month of recovery after surgery for an anterior cruciate ligament injury in his left knee. Jesse Lingard, who is recovering from fractures to two ribs, returned indoors before the small-sided exercise and remains unable to have physical contact with teammates.
Midfielder Raniele, recovering from an injury to the lateral meniscus in his right knee, and defender Gabriel Paulista, receiving treatment for a strain in the adductor muscle of his left leg, initially stayed inside the training center. They later worked separately on the pitch without the ball.
Midfielder Zakaria Labyad did not appear on the training fields while the press was present. The Morocco international underwent surgery in August for a torn anterior cruciate ligament and a meniscus injury in his left knee and is expected to return next year.
