Luciano and Ferreira will be unavailable for São Paulo’s next Brasileirão match, against Fluminense at Morumbis, after receiving their third yellow cards in Wednesday night’s 0-0 draw with Corinthians. Both will serve automatic suspensions.
Luciano was booked following a physical challenge with Memphis that led to an argument between the two players. Ferreira received his yellow card late in the match after pulling Vitinho back to stop a counterattack.
Luciano is considered the more significant absence for coach Dorival Júnior. The coach is expected to line up the attack with Artur, Lucas and Calleri, while Ferreira’s likely place among the substitutes could be taken by Tete.
São Paulo have 15 days to prepare before facing Fluminense on the 19th at 9:30 p.m. The team has 44 points: clear of the relegation zone, but not close to qualifying for the Libertadores.
