The sixth stage of the Brazilian Beach Volleyball Circuit concluded on Sunday in Maceió, with Hege/Vitória and Renato/André taking the gold medals at the arena set up on Praia da Avenida.
In the women’s final, Hege/Vitória defeated Carol Horta/Elize after coming from behind to win 17-21, 21-17 and 15-11. The victory gave the partnership its first gold medal of the season and came on Vitória Rodrigues’ birthday.
Thainara/Verena won the women’s bronze medal by beating Aninha/Tainá 21-15 and 21-16. The event’s featured pair, Olympic champions Duda and Ana Patrícia, were eliminated in the quarterfinals.
In the men’s competition, Renato/André defeated George/Pedro 21-10 and 25-23 to secure the title. Guto/Saymon finished third after overcoming Manaus/Henrique 21-15 and 21-18.
