Heart of Midlothian will be without Calvin Miller for two months after the winger suffered a knee injury that requires surgery during Sunday’s Premier Sports Cup semi-final defeat by Hibernian.
Midfielder Thomas Magnusson is also sidelined until after the international break after suffering concussion in the first half at Hampden Park. He was forced off after 14 minutes, while Miller left the field in the 37th minute. Miller had set up Claudio Braga’s opening goal before Hibernian went on to take a 2-1 lead shortly after his departure.
The injuries add to Hearts’ existing absences, leaving the club with 10 first-team players unavailable. Head coach Wouter Vrancken will take 19 players to Switzerland for Thursday’s Conference League match against Thun, six fewer than the usual maximum squad size of 25.
Before his injury, the uncapped 28-year-old Miller had been discussed as a possible Scotland squad selection. Fellow winger Josh McPake and striker James Wilson were called up last month.
