Harry Kane said he would give up his Ballon d’Or for a Champions League title, prioritizing team success over individual honours ahead of Bayern Munich’s match against Atlético Madrid in the competition’s fourth round.

Asked at a press conference whether he would trade the award, which he won the previous week, for the Champions League trophy, Kane answered that he would. He said collective titles were a major reason he plays football and stressed the importance of the team aspect of the sport.

Kane also called winning the Ballon d’Or one of the biggest moments of his life and career. He said lifting the Champions League trophy with Bayern would be an incredible feeling, adding that he hopes to achieve both.

The match in Madrid will be Kane’s first Champions League appearance since winning the Ballon d’Or. The report noted that he had not won a professional trophy before last year, and that his honours since then include two German league titles, a German Cup and two German Super Cups.
