Guarani may have to settle overdue payments to keep Kewen at the club. The 21-year-old forward is waiting for unpaid wages and image rights, and could seek to terminate his contract through the courts if the situation is not resolved.

Kewen is under contract with Guarani until December 31, 2027, but the club risks losing him without a transfer fee if it fails to clear the debts. His representatives were contacted last week by Tombense, which is interested in signing him for next season. His future remains uncertain.

Guarani’s board is working to raise funds and pay the outstanding amounts as the club faces financial difficulties. Although Kewen is among the squad’s lower-paid players, the club considers him one of its most valuable recent products from its youth system. Guarani owns 80% of his economic rights.

Portugal’s Penafiel is also interested. Before the transfer window closed, it negotiated with Guarani over a season-long loan, but the deal fell through after delays in exchanging documents.

Kewen came to prominence during the 2025 São Paulo under-20 state championship knockout rounds and the 2026 Copa São Paulo de Futebol Júnior. He made 12 first-team appearances in 2026 and scored once, in a 1-1 draw against Santos.
