NASCAR Brasil held its eighth round and the opening event of the season’s playoffs at the Autódromo Internacional de Chapecó, which made its debut on the Brazilian motorsport calendar. Three races were contested on Sunday at the oval track in western Santa Catarina.

Gabriel Casagrande won the opening race, finishing ahead of Gui Backes and Murilo Rocha. He also took the second race, recording the fastest lap of the first event in 37.062 seconds at an average speed of 141.039 km/h. The result marked a strong debut for the Chevrolet No. 83 at the Chapecó circuit.

Arthur Gama won the third and final race, with Gabriel Casagrande second and Alfredinho Ibiapina third. The victory put Gama at the top of the playoffs standings.

After the race, Gama said Casagrande’s overtaking had led to championship calculations and described the contest as a clean battle. He added that he would go to Brasília level with Casagrande.

The NASCAR Brasil season will conclude in Brasília on November 29, when the ninth and final round will decide the champion.
