Former Burnley striker Jay Rodriguez has announced his retirement from professional football. He made 311 appearances for Burnley across two spells and played more than 250 times in the Premier League.
Rodriguez began his career with his hometown club before joining Southampton in 2012. He earned his only England cap in a 2013 friendly against Chile at Wembley while with the Saints, and helped them reach the EFL Cup final in 2016-17, where they lost to Manchester United.
After Southampton, Rodriguez moved to West Bromwich Albion and returned to Burnley in 2019. He won promotion to the Premier League twice with the Clarets before finishing his career at Wrexham, making 25 appearances and helping the club earn promotion from League One in 2025.
He had been without a club since leaving Wrexham in the summer.
