Ferroviária football director Jorge Macedo highlighted the role played by SAF investors Giuliano and Filippo Bertolucci in the club’s successful 2026 season. After being relegated to Série C in 2025, Ferroviária secured promotion to Série B of the Brazilian Championship and returned to the Paulistão through strong campaigns in the state’s Série A2 and the national third tier.
Macedo said the investors maintained their confidence in the project despite the previous season’s setback. He also noted that Ferroviária operates with a deficit and had made a significant investment in 2025 before suffering relegation. According to the director, the decision to continue supporting the club provided stability and confidence during the recovery.
The club’s management also worked to retain 10 players who remained from the relegation campaign: Dênis Júnior, Gustavo Jundi, Gustavo Medina, Lucas Rodrigues, Ricardinho, Alencar, Albano, Vitor Barreto, Fau and Juninho.
Macedo praised coach Rogério Corrêa, who took charge at the start of the year, calling him a demanding and highly competent manager who raised the club’s level. The director said that keeping part of the squad, appointing Corrêa and making the right additions helped create a positive environment on and off the field.
He added that the club considered players’ character and conduct, as well as their technical qualities, when assembling the squad. In Macedo’s assessment, the absence of ego-related problems among players and staff contributed to Ferroviária’s results throughout the season.
