The Philadelphia Eagles fell to the Washington Commanders 27-10 on Sunday Night Football in Week 8, a result that extended Philadelphia's losing run to six consecutive games this season. The Eagles had opened a 10-0 advantage before conceding the next 27 points.
Philadelphia struck first with a 40-yard field goal from Jake Elliott and a rushing touchdown by Saquon Barkley. Washington responded before the end of the first quarter with a 56-yard field goal from Drew Stevens, then tied the game in the second period on a Jayden Daniels touchdown pass to Stefon Diggs. Another Stevens field goal put the Commanders ahead 13-10 at halftime.
Washington pulled further away after the break with two more Stevens field goals, from 25 and 42 yards. The Eagles had an opportunity to cut into the deficit, but Elliott missed a fresh attempt after a penalty wiped out his first kick. Late in the game, Rachaad White scored on a one-yard rushing touchdown and Austin Ekeler converted the two-point play to set the final score at 27-10.
Daniels finished with 217 passing yards and one touchdown pass. Tanner McKee threw for 212 yards for Philadelphia, was sacked five times, threw one interception and lost a fumble. The Commanders move to 2-4-1 on the season, while the Eagles sit at 2-6. Philadelphia faces the New York Giants in the next round, and Washington hosts the Los Angeles Rams.
