Douradão Stadium has been cleared to host spectators during the Copa MS, according to Sete de Dourados and the Mato Grosso do Sul Football Federation (FFMS). The venue hosts matches in the competition, which offers a place in the Copa do Brasil, and is used by both Dourados and Sete. Its opening match last week was played behind closed doors.
Sete president Tony Montalvão announced that the club will make 300 tickets available for R$1 each for Wednesday’s 3 p.m. match against Naviraiense. The tickets will be sold only at the Douradão box office and will be for seats in the stands. Montalvão said the proceeds would be donated to a charitable institution.
The FFMS said Douradão is approved for a crowd of up to 4,000 people, adding that the decision to release only 300 tickets rests with the club. Dourados beat Sete 2-0 in their opening match, which was also played without spectators.
Other Copa MS venues have also been cleared for fans. Naviraiense’s Virotão Stadium has an approved capacity of 2,717, while Moreninhas Stadium, home to Group B teams Pantanal, São Gabriel-MS and União ABC, can admit up to 3,420 spectators.
