Botafogo-sp/">Botafogo-SP has begun planning for the 2027 season and is monitoring the transfer market, but the club does not intend to overspend on new signings. Coach Cláudio Tencati said recruitment will be guided by both the squad’s needs and the club’s financial limits.
Tencati said Botafogo-SP may look for established players who can rebuild their form, as well as younger players with potential. He argued that a costly, high-profile signing is no guarantee of success and said the club must act responsibly with its finances.
The coach also said Botafogo-SP hopes the CBF’s proposed financial fair play rules will penalize clubs that fail to pay wages. He believes that could help teams that keep spending within their budgets compete more evenly.
Tencati did not disclose a target number of signings or specific names. He said the club already has a core group for 2027, including goalkeeper Victor Souza and players Morelli, Rafael Gava and Hygor. Tencati’s contract has been extended through the end of next year, and the club is discussing which players will remain.
Botafogo-SP’s next Série B match is against Londrina at home on Thursday, in the penultimate round. The club will finish its campaign against Juventude in Caxias do Sul on the 14th.
