América de Pedrinhas has withdrawn from the Série A-2 of the Sergipano Championship after just two rounds of the first phase. The club confirmed its decision on Sunday following two defeats and 14 goals conceded.

The withdrawal request was sent to the Sergipana Football Federation (FSF) by club president Nadson Silva Nascimento. According to the president, financial difficulties significantly affected the club’s ability to remain in the competition.

The club said the lack of financial support from sponsors and public authorities, combined with operational, logistical and sporting expenses, made it unfeasible to continue participating in the upcoming matches.

The directors also reported having identified what they described as unusual and suspicious circumstances during previously played matches. América de Pedrinhas lost 6-1 to Canindé and 8-0 to Carmópolis in its first two games.

The FSF said the case will be sent to the Sports Justice Court of Sergipe. Walkover victories will also be declared for Socorrense, Olímpico and Flamengo-SE, the teams that were still scheduled to face América de Pedrinhas in Group A.
